Denver Water says you shouldn’t turn your sprinkler systems on until mid-May

If you’ve ever considered artificial turf for your yard, this just may be the summer for you to pull the trigger. With very little snow in Colorado this winter, water restrictions are certainly coming, and Denver Water is already sending out warnings!

Even though the forecast may suggest otherwise, Denver Water is urging the community not to turn on their sprinkler systems until about mid-May and teamed up with staff at CSU to provide tips to residents.

Denver Water also says that getting your trees some water in the meantime is important, but it doesn’t take much as they can’t absorb a ton of water at once. There are several ways to hand water trees without turning on your system, including using a bucket.
