Denver International Airport is Getting New Trains

Dec 21, 2023, 4:58 PM

Some of the train cars at Denver International Airport are still originals from the mid-1990’s… No wonder they seem to be slow, packed, and overall one of the worst parts of the DIA experience. But good news, we’re getting new ones!!

DIA has received the first of its 26 new train cars, which were ordered in 2018 to improve the existing system. The new train cars will replace the 16 oldest ones and expand the fleet from 31 to 41 cars.

Maybe the best news of all, the upgrade will increase passenger capacity by about 850 per hour and improve the frequency and efficiency of the train service.

DIA expects the upgrades to be in place by the summer of 2024.
