Sometimes you just need a good quite place to hide away for a bit… The top of a powerline is a bad idea, though. A Colorado cat did not get that memo.
A cat in Aurora was recently rescued after spending five days stranded on a power line pole.
Nely Aguilera says her cat, Chato, slipped out while she was moving in and was later spotted high above the neighborhood, prompting repeated calls from neighbor Janet Brown to local agencies, the Aurora Fire Department and Xcel Energy, which hesitated due to safety concerns around live wires. Authorities said crews could not act without shutting down electricity, and the utility company said animal removals are not typically within its scope of work.
After a fraught five days, Brown confirmed Thursday night that Chato was safely down, although it’s not clear exactly how it got down.
