Last night, artists from across genres gathered for the MTV Music Video Awards. Typically, we don’t really associate country music with the VMAs. However, there was great representation with performances from Bailey Zimmerman, Megan Moroney, Post Malone, and Jelly Roll. Not only that, the VMAs officially introduced the “Best Country” category. Nominees for the first ever, all country award, were Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen and Megan Moroney – who ended up taking home the “spaceman” trophy for her video, “Am I Okay?”
Morgan Wallen really enjoys setting the stage and his walkouts have become iconic! Recently, Wallen played back-to-back shows in Toronto, and he was accompanied by former Toronto Blue Jays, MLB player, José Bautista. It was all fun and games until Bautista handed a bat to the “Whiskey Glasses” singer, who then executed a perfect bat flip. Unfortunately, the bat ended making direct contact with Bautista’s wife who was standing side-stage. Thankfully, the incident did not result in any major injuries.
