Country inspiration for Thanksgiving | Music City Minute

Nov 27, 2024, 4:38 PM

This week is all about family, friends and feasts. Whether you like a traditional turkey dinner or like to do your own thing, there is no shortage of country cookbooks with heaps of recipes to jazz up your holiday meal. First up is Loretta Lynn’s: You’re Cookin’ It Country. Then there is Alan Jackson’s: Who Says You Can’t Cook It All, Tammy Wynette’s: Southern Cookbook, Martina McBride’s: Kitchen Mix and Kix Brooks’: Cookin’ It with Kix, The Art of Celebrating and the Fun of Outdoor Cooking. Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town has a book called: Oh Gussie, Cooking and Visiting in Kimberly’s Southern Kitchen and Miranda Lambert’s book is called: Y’all Eat Yet? If you really want to get authentic, try Hank Williams Jr.’s: Hey Good Cookin’, which includes recipes for venison, rabbit, possum and other wild game. Of course, we can’t leave out Trisha Yearwood’s classics like: Georgia Cookin’ in an Oklahoma Kitchen and Trisha’s Table. Last but not least is the new release from Dolly Parton and her sister Rachel, Good Lookin’ Cookin’. You’ll have no shortage of mealtime inspiration with these books.
I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.
