Corey Kent’s shocking preshow ritual | Music City Minute

Jun 17, 2025, 5:21 PM

This morning, when I woke up, I didn’t think I was going to be talking about country stars and tasers, but here we are. Corey Kent is one of the opening acts on Jon Pardi’s Honky-Tonk Hollywood Tour. And, he recently revealed his crew’s preshow rituals. The “Wild As Her” singer explained that before going on stage, he and his band get together for preshow shots, handshakes and then they play spin-the-bottle. However, they don’t play by normal rules. Instead of PDA, it’s more like taser roulette. Yeah, you heard that right. Whomever the bottle lands on gets tasered in the chest. Kent said he’s been the lucky loser at least six times throughout the tour. He swears the excitement and adrenaline leads to a better performance for fans. Well, it certainly is an interesting way to literally generate electricity before a show. Now, I’m curious if Kent and his crew will be practicing this very specific ritual before they hit the Fiddler’s Green stage at Birthday Bash 45, July 6. By the way, if you are wondering if Jon Pardi has stepped up to the challenge, that is a big “Negative, Ghost Rider.”
I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.
