Colorado’s road rage problem is getting worse

A new report from ConsumerAffairs ranks Colorado among the worst states in the country for road rage.
If you’ve ever white-knuckled it on I-25, this won’t surprise you.
The state has a serious speeding problem.
Colorado has the highest rate of violations involving careless driving or speeding in the nation — and that rate jumped 46.5% from last year.
Aggressive or careless driving is a factor in nearly half of all fatal crashes in the state.

Colorado lawmakers are taking notice. Governor Polis just signed a new law increasing penalties for repeat speeders and anyone caught going over 100 mph.
Colorado’s dedicated aggressive driving hotline (*277 / *CSP) received over 33,000 reports of road rage.
Aggressive driving now accounts for 57.3% of all hazard calls handled by state dispatchers.
The top five worst states for road rage are Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Colorado, with Nevada rounding it out.
