Colorado’s Ingrid Andress says she united America by botching the National Anthem – Adds two Colorado shows

The United States is a very divided place right now. And in the middle of last year’s presidential election, where no one could agree on anything, there was one thing that brought us all together.

And that was how bad Highlands Ranch, Colorado’s Ingrid Andress botched the National Anthem. And these are her words, not ours.

In case you didn’t remember, last summer Ingrid sang the national anthem at the Home Run Derby, and it was universally declared a disaster. People from all ages, backgrounds, religions, and political affiliations all came together in one shining moment, and collectively said, “Wow, this sucks.”

Here’s what she said in an interview with “Rolling Stone” about the moment: “I felt like America’s punching bag. I became a way to unite America… It was like, ‘At least we can all agree that this girl botched the anthem.'”

The good news is that afterwards Ingrid checked herself into rehab, where she worked on her substance issues. And she just announced two new shows in Colorado in April, one in Denver and one in Aspen.
