Colorado Restaurant Featured on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’ is Closing for Good

Jan 24, 2023, 5:17 PM

With the popularity of the show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, you’d expect every restaurant that gets featured on it to have long, very successful runs in the industry. Sadly, that is not always the case, and the closure bug has bitten a Colorado restaurant featured on the show.

Veteran-owned Spice Island Grill is closing its doors after 12 years of serving authentic Jamaican cuisine to the Colorado Springs community.

On Monday, Jan. 23, Spice Island Grill posted a message on its Facebook page, stating it would be closing both locations in Colorado Springs permanently. The owners referenced a “lack of quality and qualified workers, increasing prices, and decreasing demands,” as factors that led to their decision.

Spice Island Grill also clarified to customers that both locations; 10 North Sierra Madre Street and 6829 Space Village Avenue, are now permanently closed.

The restaurant was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives Season 24 Episode 1.
