Colorado mall evacuated thanks to milk jugs

Aug 20, 2024, 4:16 PM | Updated: Aug 21, 2024, 9:57 am

When I was a kid we put some toilet paper in someone’s tree as a prank, but pranks these days are much different…

On Saturday in Lakewood, Colorado, the Colorado Mills Mall had to be evacuated after a prank was mistaken for gunfire.

At just before 6 pm, police received reports of “shots fired” in the mall’s food court. After the mall was evacuated, police sought out victims, but none were found, fortunately. It turns out the noises didn’t come from gunfire but were the result of milk jugs being slammed to the ground by mask-wearing juveniles…which apparently sounds similar to gunfire, especially in an echo-y mall environment.

The three kids responsible for the prank were apprehended by police and cited…and hopefully forced to clean up the milk.
