Colorado Country Star Clare Dunn Hosting a Benefit This Weekend For a Family Who Lost Their Entire Farm to a Tornado

Aug 31, 2023, 2:37 PM

Colorado country star Clare Dunn has traveled the world playing for big crowds with the likes of Bob Seger, and others, but she still stays true to her roots here in Colorado, and here’s proof…

The Billboard charting performer will host and perform during a special night of country music benefiting tornado relief a family who lost nearly everything in Lamar, CO.

John and Myrna DuVall, a farming family and friend, were hit with an EF-3 tornado on June 23rd and lost everything they owned, including all barns, corrals, equipment, vehicles, some livestock and eight of their nine dogs when the tornado traveling at approximately 155 mph touched down 15 miles south of the town of Granada in southeastern Colorado.

The event is this Saturday, Sept. 2 in the rodeo arena at the Prowers County Fairgrounds.

Tickets are $40 for adults and $10 for kids under 12. The event begins at 4 p.m. with a beer garden followed by a barbeque at 5 p.m. by Gary Melcher at Gary’s Backyard BBQ which is included in the cost of the ticket. There will be a live auction prior to the concert with some amazing items. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m., featuring Dunn. All funds will benefit the DuVall family.

“It’s Labor Day weekend, so if you don’t have plans and even if you live far away, come on down,” Dunn said. “If you want to do something that is a reminder of America and a day gone by and a day that we can bring back, come on down.”

Online donations can be made and tickets purchased at claredunn.com/duvallbenefit.
