Cody and Brandi Johnson welcome a baby boy, Charley Crockett disappointed over Turnpike Troubadours Grammy snub | Music City Minute

Nov 19, 2025, 3:43 PM

Cody Johnson and his wife Brandi recently announced the birth of their third baby, a boy named Jaycee. The “Till You Can’t” singer also shared some details of the birth story, admitting little Jaycee wasted almost no time coming into the world. Johnson said on October 21, at about 2:30 in the morning, miss Brandi informed him that her water just broke. While racing to the hospital, the Texas native learned that his wife’s diesel truck tops out at 125 mph. Johnson added that mama and baby are doing fantastic and all of it was a wonderful experience.
Charley Crockett is just one of several big name artists (and let’s face it, fans) upset over the Turnpike Troubadours’ Grammy snub. Crockett admits he practically owes his career to frontman, Evan Felker, because he was the first established person in the business to give Charley a shot. That being said, Charley Crockett has offered to concede his nomination in the category of Best Traditional Country Album in order for the Turnpike Troubadours to have their shot at the Grammy.
