Celebrity Sports Center is Back in Denver… Kind Of

Dec 27, 2023, 3:19 PM

If you’ve lived in Denver for awhile, and by awhile I mean since before 1995, you likely remember the giant bowling alley/fun center called Celebrity Sports Center.

The family-oriented entertainment business and landmark was officially located in Glendale, Colorado at 888 South Colorado Boulevard near East Kentucky Avenue. It featured 80 bowling lanes, more than 300 video games and pinball machines spread across three arcades, a 50-meter pool with three water slides, a billiard room, a full-service restaurant, the “Hofbräu” bar, bumper-car rides and a shooting gallery which were located in the “Fun Center” game room downstairs, the largest of the 3 arcade rooms. There were also 3 complete slot car tracks in the basement.

Sadly the original “Celebrity” was torn down in 1995, but it’s back… Kind of!

A new “Celebrity Lanes” came to the Denver area in 2011. This Celebrity is located at at the Northwest corner of Arapahoe Road and Parker. It features a full service restaurant serving the 32 regular bowling lanes, two-4 lane VIP Suites, and Kids Zone Arcade.

No swimming pools, slides, or bumper cars. but it’s likely as close as we’ll ever get to the “good old days” of Celebrity in Denver.
