Casa Bonita makes Yelp’s list of most outrageous restaurants in America

Of all the restaurants in America where you can eat a sopapilla while watching a man do a backflip off a cliff into a pool, only one made Yelp’s list of the 10 Most Outrageous Restaurants of 2026. And it’s ours.
Casa Bonita — Denver’s 52,000-square-foot, pink-stuccoed fever dream of mariachi bands, puppet shows, tarot card readers and a 30-foot waterfall with cliff divers — landed at No. 10 on the list, which Yelp compiled based on overall ratings, total reviews, recent activity and page views. “These aren’t your average dining spots,” Yelp writer Kathy Passero wrote. “They’re full-blown adventures where the food, decor and atmosphere are equally unforgettable.” That is, quite literally, what Casa Bonita has been selling since 1974.
The restaurant’s second act began in 2021 when South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone — who grew up obsessed with the place and famously featured it in a 2003 episode — bought it out of bankruptcy and poured roughly $40 million into a renovation that upgraded the food, the infrastructure and the experience while preserving every ounce of the kitschy chaos that made it a Colorado institution in the first place. The result is a restaurant that now draws national attention not just as a punchline but as a genuine destination, complete with a reservation system that routinely sells out weeks in advance.
Casa Bonita shared the list with nine other over-the-top concepts from across the country, including Houston’s Aquarium Restaurant (dinner next to a 150,000-gallon shark tank), a spy-themed speakeasy in Milwaukee where you need a secret password to enter, a restaurant 21 stories underground inside a 345-million-year-old cave in Arizona, a Las Vegas spot where you eat a seven-course meal in total darkness and the Magic Castle in Hollywood, which is a private club for magicians. Respectable company, but none of them have Black Bart’s Cave.
