It’s been well publicized that Bandimere Speedway closed and sold its original location in Morrison after 65 years, but now we know where the popular drag racing track is going to relocate.
The Bandimere family say they have acquired their first parcel of land in the Hudson area of Weld County this week. The family said in part this is just the first piece of the puzzle, as they hope to acquire more of the surrounding land also. Zoning and annexation of the new land will also be taking place soon, with the timing undetermined.
The exact address of the new race track in Hudson has yet to be confirmed, though BizWest reports the Bandimere family was the likely buyer a 114.45-acre tract for $3 million at a site near the northwest corner of Interstate 76 and Colorado 52 near Hudson in unincorporated Weld County.
Hudson is Weld County and is home to about 1,600 residents. The town is right off of I-76 and Highway 52, about 30 miles northeast of Denver.
Rumors are that the new site is 1,100 acres, more than seven-times larger than the previous location. The facility will include a mile-long track and various amenities, including a go-kart track. The hope is to open the new facility partially by 2025, with complete operations set for 2026.
