The Colorado Avalanche are going to have to survive another season without their team captain Gabriel Landeskog as it was announced today he’ll need to have cartilage transplant surgery on his right knee.

He’s already been out for almost a year with his last game being Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on June 26th when the Avalanche won the NHL Championship.

On the Colorado Avalanche Twitter Page they posted that the surgery will be performed tomorrow (May 10th) in Chicago by Dr. Brian Cole at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
