I’ll be honest, I never thought we’d see Gabriel Landeskog play professional hockey again after missing the last three years with injury. Turns out, I am most likely wrong, and I am so happy about that!
The Colorado Avalanche captain has been loaned to the Colorado Eagles, the team’s AHL affiliate, for a conditioning assignment.
Because Landeskog is on the long-term injured reserve list, he’s eligible to play as many as three games with the Eagles. The team hosts the Henderson Silver Knights for two games this weekend in Loveland before heading onto the road.
Landeskog hasn’t played since winning the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in Game 6 against the Tampa Bay Lightning on June 26, 2022. He’s missed nearly three seasons with injury.
There’s no official word on when/if he’ll play for the Eagles or what the plans are for his return to the Avalanche.
The team may be bad, but Coors Field in Denver has the cheapest beer in baseball
