I’ve long said that the Denver skyline outside of the “ATM building” is pretty boring. That could be changing in a big way…
According to a press release from a group called New Downtown Denver, they’ve proposed a Ferris wheel that would stretch 500 feet into the air with passengers enclosed in glass pods similar to those of the world-renowned London Eye.
The group is calling the proposed ride the ‘Rocky Mountain Eye.’ It would feature 30 pods capable of holding 25 passengers each, with the wheel rotating at about two miles per hour.
An exact location for the wheel wasn’t disclosed, as New Downtown Denver is currently just seeking to build public support for their revitalization effort, and they’re hopeful that Mayor Johnston and his team will get on board.
This is not the same group that is behind a proposed observation tower downtown.
