A Denver Broncos’ quarterback just gave up his number so another quarterback could have it

Even when two quarterbacks are on the same team in the NFL, there’s still a lot of competition between them to try and earn a spot on the field. That makes this story pretty heartwarming…
When the Denver Broncos traded for the Zach Wilson on April 22, the NFL wanted teams to assign numbers to their players leading into the NFL Draft. Wilson, who wore number 2 during his three years as quarterback for the New York Jets, took the number 10 as Patrick Surtain already wears number 2 for the Broncos.
Then the Broncos drafted Bo Nix, who has wore the number 10 his whole life, from high school to both of his college teams at Auburn and Oregon.
Wilson found out about this and gave the number to Nix for FREE. A move that has notably costed many players a lot of money throughout the years.
Wilson will now be wearing number 4 while Jarrett Stidham will wear number 8, a switch he made earlier this offseason.
