A Colorado Spot Has Been Named One of the Top 5 Bluest Bodies of Water in the U.S.

May 31, 2023, 3:55 PM

When I saw a list titled “The Top 10 Bluest Bodies of Water in the U.S.” I really thought it would be all beaches on the ocean. I was wrong, and one Colorado spot actually made the top fie on the list!

Research shows that being near water can improve our mental state, making us happier, calmer and more creative. There’s a lot of water out there, so how do you find the ideal, calming shade for your next getaway?

New research from the travel experts at SIXT can help. They compared more than 50 of the most beautiful bodies of water in the U.S. to find what they call the “perfect” shade of blue.

Topping the list as the bluest water in the country is Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. It’s part of seven sister lakes all connected underground and maintains a steady temperature of 62-degrees.

Number two is Chena Hot Springs in Fairbanks, Alaska. The geothermal hot springs were discovered during a gold rush over a century ago and people are still coming back to the warm water to relax today.

But it’s number four on the list that has me hoping for a road-trip to the Granby area this summer…
