Both Matchbox Twenty and Nickelback are coming to Denver, and millennials are not OK

Somewhere in Denver, a millennial just pulled a burned CD out of a Honda Civic glove box and started crying. Two of the biggest rock bands of the late ’90s and early 2000s just announced Colorado shows for spring 2027. Group chats across the Front Range have been buzzing ever since.
First up is Nickelback, which hits Ball Arena on Saturday, April 24, as part of its 2027 “Everything Under The Sun Tour.” British rockers Don Broco are the opening act. The tour celebrates the band’s 11th studio album, due Oct. 30. Presales started this morning, and general tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. Yes, Nickelback has spent years as the internet’s favorite punchline. They’ve also sold nearly 65 million albums, so plenty of people are secretly singing along to “Photograph” in the car.
Then Matchbox Twenty brings its 30th anniversary tour to Red Rocks on Saturday, May 22, with The Wallflowers opening. That’s a two-for-one deal for anyone who wore out a “One Headlight” cassette. The tour marks 30 years since “Yourself or Someone Like You,” the debut album that gave us “Push,” “3AM” and “Real World” and went diamond. Hearing “3AM” echo off the rocks on a May night might be the most millennial thing Colorado can offer.
Matchbox Twenty presales start Tuesday, Oct. 20, and general tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. Set your alarms, warm up your Ticketmaster and AXS logins, and maybe find those frosted tips pictures before your friends do.
