Garett Bolles protects quarterbacks for a living. On Monday (April 26), he stopped to help a stranger on the side of the road.
A TikTok video surfaced showing the Denver Broncos’ Pro Bowl left tackle pulled over on a Denver-area freeway, sitting on the ground beside a car and walking a stranded motorist through a tire change step by step.
The video, posted by TikTok user @mariabrltran3, quickly went viral, racking up more than 24,000 likes. In the caption, written in Spanish, the woman expressed her gratitude: “Gracias a este señor jugador de los Broncas de Denver me ayudó a cambiar mi llanta. Es un ángel. Dios lo bendiga” — which translates to, “Thanks to this gentleman, a player for the Denver Broncos, who helped me change my tire. He is an angel. God bless him.”
The act drew widespread praise on social media and across the NFL landscape, with fans and commentators applauding the gesture as the latest example of Bolles’ commitment to his community.
Bolles’ roadside assist is consistent with a pattern of off-field service that has defined his time in Denver. In 2023, he was recognized as a nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, which honors players for their community impact. That recognition highlighted Bolles’ work with at-risk youth — a cause rooted in his own background. As a teenager, Bolles had run-ins with the youth justice system before turning his life around through football at the University of Utah.
