One weather model is calling for over a foot of snow in Denver the first week of March

Feb 25, 2026, 4:57 PM

March is typically the snowiest month in Denver, averaging 11.4 to 11.5 inches of snowfall based on long-term data, and this year we may hit those numbers in one storm the first week of the month!

Current forecast mapping from Pivotal Weather shows that Denver could more than double our current snow totals for the entire winter with a storm forecasted to hit the city on March 6th.

Between 5 p.m. on March 5 and 5 p.m. on March 6, Pivotal Weather is calling for Denver to get 12.3 inches of snow, with 9.1 inches expected in Fort Collins during the same period along with 10.3 in Castle Rock and 5.5 in Colorado Springs.

A lot can change in just over a week, and with the way the winter has gone so far, I am not holding my breath… But you’re sayin’ there’s a chance!
