Colorado is looking to get in the mood for Valentine’s Day!
Instacart shared a bunch of stats on what we’ll be ordering for the love holiday based on past years. Here are a few things we buy WAY more of on Valentine’s Day.
1. Flowers, obviously. Sales of fresh-cut roses jump 1,900% on Valentine’s Day each year. Mixed bouquets, around 1,500%.
2. Stuffed animals. Again, almost a 1,900% jump in sales.
3. Candy. Chocolate orders will jump 111%. So, more than twice as much candy as usual.
4. Chocolate-covered fruit. A 4,700% jump compared to the average day.
They also looked at which cities order the most APHRODISIAC foods in the lead-up to Valentine’s Day. Stuff like oysters and pomegranates that supposedly put you in the mood.
Colorado Springs and Scottsdale, Arizona top the list, ordering 32% more aphrodisiac foods than average.
The rest of the top five are Madison, Wisconsin (31%) . . . Denver (29%) . . . and Portland, Oregon (24%).
