Sunday’s Denver Broncos game will be this season’s coldest by a long way

Playoff football at Mile High Stadium is supposed to be cold, right? Well, Mother Nature got the memo for the AFC Championship Game on Sunday (Jan. 25).
Our partners at 9News say they are tracking a wedge of Arctic air from the north that is merging with a cutoff low pressure system to the south, bringing much colder temperatures and snow across the Rocky Mountain region.
Most of the snow will be isolated to Friday and Saturday, and won’t accumulate a lot across the Front Range, but the cold will stick around for the game on Sunday.
Temperatures for the game with a 1 p.m. kickoff are forecasted to be in the 20s to start the game, with conditions in the 20s for temperatures during the game. Some weather models show potential for light snow arriving late in the game, though accumulation would be minimal.
