Post Malone announced as Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game halftime performer

Nov 17, 2025, 9:21 AM | Updated: 3:37 pm

The Dallas Cowboys have announced that Post Malone will headline their Thanksgiving Day halftime show this year, continuing a long-running tradition of pairing one of the NFL’s biggest stages with top-tier entertainment. The Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving every year since 1977, and the annual holiday matchup has become more than a football tradition — it also serves as the official kickoff to The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, one of the most recognized charitable initiatives in the world.

This year’s performance is especially meaningful, as Post Malone is not only one of music’s biggest global stars, but also a lifelong, diehard Cowboys fan. Post’s Cowboys connection runs deeper than entertainment — his father, Rich Post, spent years working inside the Cowboys organization in stadium operations and food & beverage management.

Post shared his excitement and the personal significance of the moment:

“I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years,” said Post Malone. “It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”

The Red Kettle Campaign, launched in 1891, raises money to support food assistance, sheltering, disaster relief, youth programs, and essential social services for families and individuals in need. The iconic red kettles and bell ringers will begin appearing outside stores nationwide immediately following the performance, serving as a nationwide reminder to support community members facing hardship during the winter months.

The Cowboys have partnered with The Salvation Army for their Thanksgiving halftime tradition since 1997, using the national spotlight to help drive one of the largest charitable holiday fundraising efforts in the country. Over the years, the Thanksgiving stage has featured a long list of memorable halftime performers, including Creed, Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, and Toby Keith, among others.
