Bo Nix delivers again — and Denver sits atop AFC

Well Broncos Country, we might all need to get our heart rates checked once again, after the Broncos came through in the clutch to beat the Chiefs 22–19 this afternoon at Mile High. For the second straight week, it was Bo Nix leading a late-game, pressure-filled drive, capped off by a 35-yard game-winning field goal from Will Lutz to seal the victory.

The Broncos found a way to win shorthanded, extending their win streak to 8 games, despite entering Sunday without Pat Surtain II, Alex Singleton, and J.K. Dobbins — who was officially ruled out for the remainder of the season Saturday due to foot surgery.

Bo Nix finished the day 24-of-37 passing for 295 yards, once again showing maturity, poise, and mobility when it mattered most. Troy Franklin led all receivers with four catches for 84 yards, including what proved to be a game-saving 32-yard grab to set up the winning kick. Rookie Pat Bryant stayed heavily involved, catching five passes for 82 yards, while Courtland Sutton added four receptions for 59 yards.

On defense, the Broncos delivered again, holding the Chiefs to just 19 points and limiting Patrick Mahomes to one passing touchdown, which went to Travis Kelce. Denver also sacked Mahomes three times, with Ja’Quan McMillian credited for two of them.

The Broncos now head into their bye week riding a eight-game win streak, sitting in a commanding lead in the AFC West and tied for the best record in the AFC with the Colts. Denver returns to action on Sunday Night Football on November 30, when they’ll travel to face the Washington Commanders to close out Thanksgiving weekend.

For now, the focus turns to rest, recovery, and health as the Broncos prepare for the second half of what is becoming a season to remember.
