Denver’s first snow could happen this weekend

We all know Mother Nature is unpredictable in Colorado, so it really should come as no surprise tat you’ve had your air conditioner on this week, and we could see our first snow of the season by the weekend…
We’re actually already in the “late” stage as the average first day of measurable snowfall comes on Oct. 18. in Denver.
9NEWS Weather Impact Team meteorologist Chris Bianchi says a storm system this Sunday (Oct 26) into Monday has the potential to bring Denver its first few snowflakes of the year.
The system is expected to deliver more than six inches of snow to Colorado mountain areas down to pass level, accompanied by strong winds across Colorado, including the Denver-area.
Computer models are currently showing potential for light snow in Denver. Current projections suggest rain showers will transition to snow behind a sharp cold front Monday morning.
However, Bianchi said that if the system tracks too far north, the Denver area will primarily experience high winds similar to conditions earlier this week.
If you’re hoping for a “big one” this won’t be it, but it is a good warning that it won’t be long!
