Study says Denver is home to some of the worst DMVs in America

No one in history has ever raved about their experience at the DMV, other than maybe being thankful that it wasn’t as bad as they expected. But some DMVs are more hellish than others, and Denver seems to have more of those than most cities.

A website analyzed the experiences of people at 140 DMV locations across 30 major U.S. cities to figure out which ones are the most frustrating and the biggest wastes of time.

They crunched the numbers, and the cities with the worst DMV locations:

• 1. Charlotte, North Carolina. When it comes to the most negative reviews, three Charlotte locations were in the top five among the 140 locations they looked at.
• 2. Portland, Oregon
• 3. Austin
• 4. Boston
• 5. San Francisco
• 6. Memphis
• 7. Denver
• 8. Oklahoma City
• 9. Los Angeles
• 10. Fort Worth, Texas

The cities with the best DMV locations are:

• 1. Indianapolis
• 2. Phoenix
• 3. Seattle
• 4. Jacksonville, Florida
• 5. Philadelphia
• 6. Chicago
• 7. Baltimore
• 8. Detroit
• 9. New York City
• 10. San Antonio

For what it’s worth, the report says that Oklahoma City DMVs are the “most improved” over the past couple years. The least improved include locations in Los Angeles, Nashville and Washington, D.C.
