Despite being historically bad, the Colorado Rockies have a player headed to the All-Star Game

Good news stories about the Colorado Rockies are few and far between these days, so anytime something cool happens with the team I feel like I have to take advantage! Although the story won’t bring the team anymore wins in a historically bad season, there is hope that the future could be bright as at least one player on the team looks to be pretty good!
It’s worth noting that every team in Major League Baseball (MLB) gets an All-Star, but the guy heading to Atlanta to represent the Rockies actually does deserve the honor… Catcher, Hunter Goodman was named as a reserve to the National League team.
He’s just the second Rockies catcher to get become an All-Star. Elias Diaz was selected in 2023, taking home that game’s MVP award.
Goodman is batting .281 with 16 home runs and 50 RBI. That’s the most homers and RBIs for a Rockies’ catcher ever before the break.
Goodman will be the only Rockie at the All-Star Game, marking the fifth year in a row the Rockies have sent a single player to the event. Before this stretch, the most had been two years consecutively with a lone representative.
