It’s been a tough go for a really neat Colorado car museum the last few years. Rodz & Bodz Movie Cars & More Museum has gone through several locations in different cities and nothing has stuck. So, to to buy a building or land for new facility the museum is going to part with many of its famous cars.
The museum featuring cars like the Smokey & The Bandit Trans Am, cars from the original Fast & the Furious movie and many other original and replica movie cars, moved out of the Denver area and it’s original home at the Colorado Mills Mall in April of 2023. In March of 2024 the museum reopened in its new home at the Greeley Mall, but things didn’t go so well in Greeley. They ended up at 401 Englewood Parkway now that building will be demolished to make room for new apartment units and a hotel.
This isn’t the end for the museum, but in order to get funds for a more permanent location, some of the cars have to go…
An auction will take place Aug. 22 – 23, both online and in person at the museum. More than 450 items will be sold at the auction, the bulk majority of them memorabilia, gas pumps, vintage signs, toys and other collectibles. About 50 movie cars are being auctioned off. Movie cars such as the “Ghostbusters,” “Herbie,” “Jurassic Park” and “Knight Rider” vehicles will be up for sale as will four of the 10 “Fast & Furious” cars that the museum owns. More on the auction can be found here.
The last day the museum will be opened to the public is Aug. 3., and they expect to be closed for about a year.
