Not only is it one of the most unique buildings you’ll find in Denver, now the Populus Hotel can say it’s also one of the ‘World’s Greatest Places of 2025.’
Each year Time Magazine puts together the list of the 100 best places to visit around the world. This year, the Populus hotel received the honor of being mentioned.
The Populus, which opened in October, is the world’s first carbon-positive hotel, and it was made to look like an aspen tree.
Time said the architecture and environmentally friendly design are why the hotel made the list:
“The windows have ‘lids’ that shade the building; an on-site biodigester composts 100 percent of food waste; and reclaimed materials throughout include Beetle killed pine and Wyoming snow fencing,” Time said. “Oh, and your room key? It’s made of wood, and it’s covered by a sleeve containing wildflower seeds that you can soak in water and plant.”
You can see what else Time had to say and their full list here.
