Dolly Parton related to pop icon and Shania Twain reveals favorite new artist | Music City Minute

Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus have always had a close relationship. Dolly is, after all, Miley’s godmother. Also, the genre-crossing stars have recorded and performed together many times over.  Well, it turns out, the ladies’ close bond could be also due to the fact they are seventh cousins, once removed! According to a recently revealed ancestry chart, Miley and Dolly share a relative who lived between Virginia and Tennessee around the turn of the 19th century. When presented with the information, Parton said it didn’t surprise her, because Miley has always felt like family.

Shania Twain has revealed her favorite up-and-coming artist right now is Shaboozy. Twain is hoping to chat with the “Tipsy” singer at the People’s Choice Country Awards. The country icon wants to express how much she enjoys his music and that his videos always make her smile!
