Famous Denver area music store closing after over 35 years

Feb 2, 2024, 3:08 PM

An iconic music store chain that mostly serves the upper Midwest of the United States currently has one location in the Denver-area, but after over 35 years in business, is about to say its goodbyes.

Schmitt Music announced its plans to close its only location in Colorado next month on its Facebook page:

We are saddened to announce that Schmitt Music will be leaving the Denver area in Spring 2024. We have greatly enjoyed being a part of this community, and value the opportunities we have had to support teacher recitals and in-store concerts. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives for over 35 years.

Located at 155 W. Hampden Avenue in Englewood, Schmitt’s will be having a store closing sale from February 8th through March 17th, as they attempt to liquidate all remaining local inventory. Their other locations in Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin will remain open.
