Colorado’s new outdoor amphitheater set to open, has first act booked

Feb 1, 2024, 11:08 AM

Colorado is getting a brand new outdoor concert and event venue, the Sunset Amphitheater, in north Colorado Springs.

And fittingly, the first act to play the new venue will be Colorado Springs’ own OneRepublic, on August 9th. Tickets will available on the AXS website.

Notes Live, a bold newcomer in the realm of independent live entertainment, is the backer behind The Sunset. Situated within the culturally vibrant Polaris Pointe development in Colorado Springs, this state-of-the-art venue will accommodate up to 8,000 individuals. With a substantial financing of $40 million, The Sunset aims to offer a luxurious setting for the nation’s most prominent touring acts. Notably, it will share the same premises as the company’s current mid-sized music venue, Boot Barn Hall.

As described on the amphitheater website, “The Sunset will provide an unparalleled backdrop with a breathtaking view of the sun descending behind Pikes Peak.” The stage will be flanked by the United States Air Force Academy stadium on the left and the iconic Air Force chapel on the right. Additionally, the venue will boast remarkable amenities, including 60 VIP firepit suites, four to five-star restaurants, and a signature seafood and chophouse featuring a top-tier rooftop bar boasting an extensive collection of over 150 of the world’s rarest bourbons.

Notes Live Founder and Chairman JW Roth remarked,  “Notes Live venues will cater to these upscale demographics looking for a place where the overall experience is as good as the music itself.”

AEG Presents Rocky Mountains is the promoter bringing the shows in. AEG PRM Co-President and COO stated, “in collaboration with Notes Live, we look forward to bringing a wide array of world-class artists to Colorado Springs and it’s surrounding communities. Sunset Amphitheater will be the perfect outdoor venue to host these events.”
