Things to do in Denver tonight and this weekend

Jun 9, 2023, 1:21 PM | Updated: 1:41 pm

Denver, CO — Still haven’t finalized your weekend plans? Rain or shine the mile high city has plenty of happenings. May it be a whole family excursion or a date night, KOSI has the latest on some of the things to do in Denver tonight and this weekend.

Friday 6/9

Denver Fringe Festival – Bring the whole family to “discover the unexpected”. The Denver Fringe Festival will be going down all weekend, with over 55 shows at 12 different venues in the RINO and Five Points areas. The performances are said to “support bold, progressive arts and diverse voices in all genres of performance arts”. The family-friendly festival has a mission to highlight independent artists who provide original and innovative performances.

Denver Greek Festival –  Denver’s largest cultural festival is back! The Greek Festival goes all weekend long and closes tonight at 11 pm. For it’s 56th year, the festival has 10 different sponsors, all who are helping bring forward autentic Greek food, music and dance! Beyond the sculptures, painting and church tours, you can also indulge in boutique items like jewelry straight from Greece.

Brit Floyd at Red Rocks– Because we can’t see the whole Pink Floyd band live in action, we’ll have to settle for a cover band. However, this is hardly settling. Brit Floyd is well renowned Pink Floyd Cover band traveling the globe performing at sold out shows. From the floating big to rotating band pictures and encapsulating stage graphics, this show is nothing short of what you’d imagine the real Pink Floyd to be like. Catch them at Red Rocks Ampitheatre, doors open at 6:30

Denver Nuggets Watch Parties – What’s a true Denver weekend without supporting a Big Four team? As the Denver Nuggets head to game 5, watch parties will pop up across the city. The NBA is recognizing our city with an official list including McGregor square, Tom’s Bar and even Ball arena. However, we know tonight, any bar in the city that has a TV will be playing the game, so you can make a watch party of your own wherever you go.

Saturday 6/10

Farmers Markets – We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite farmers markets in the Denver Metro area including parking accessibility and more. They all take place tomorrow morning and early afternoon!

Five Points Jazz Festival – Five Points is home to some of Denver’s favorite Jazz clubs! Now the artists are being hosted at this local neighborhood festival. In theory, “this free festival will get you cultured with a diverse lineup of Latin, blues, funk and other types of Jazz music.” The free and family friendly event will also have a great line-up of food trucks and vendors! The festival in happening Saturday from noon-8pm!

Harmony Horse Expo – Saddle up with the family, see some horses, eat free Raising Canes and tour the beautiful acres of the unique rehabilitation and training center. You’ll have all day to score some goodies as the event goes from 10 am – 5pm!

Comedy shows @ Comedy Works – Prepare to laugh with comedians Ron Funches and Kristina Kuzmic as both take on Denver’s comedy club locations. Funches will be downtown Denver while Kuzmic will take the stage at the South location.
