Mrs. Meyer’s Is Giving Away Flower Seed Packets
Can gardening grow a more compassionate generation? It’s a question Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day is looking to answer.
The company teamed up with horticulturists to create the compassion flower, a cross between a pansy and a spreading viola. The idea is for the flower to show that one act of kindness can spread and grown, just like flowers do.
The Compassion Flower Project began as an initiative to teach kids how kindness can be nurtured and grown. Mrs. Meyer’s supplied the seeds and students went to work planting them, all while discussing the greater need for empathy and understanding in the world.
Mrs. Meyer’s is now planting “compassion gardens” across the country in hopes it will inspire others to do the same. You can join in simply by ordering something from MrsMeyers.com. From May 7 to May 19, everyone who makes a purchase will receive a free packet of compassion flower seeds.
Take a look at the video below to see just what went into creating the beautiful, purple flower and how it is already helping children learn compassion.
Their website includes everything from cleaners to lotion and even air fresheners. Shipping is also free for orders over $30.
“We’re gardeners. We know the power of watching a tiny seed grow into something big and beautiful,” Mrs. Meyer’s says on its website. “Our one-of-a-kind compassion flower is the first flower created with a purpose to help spread kindness in a world that sure could use it.”
Will you be joining the project and planting some compassion flowers?
