Jenna Fischer Just Revealed What Pam Whispered To Michael When He Left ‘The Office’

Fans of “The Office” were left with a few unanswered  questions when the show ended in 2013 — like, of course, will Pam Beesly Halpert ever be able to return to a Chili’s? But perhaps a bigger mystery involving Pam was exactly what she said to her longtime boss, Michael Scott, when he left Scranton for good.

The moment took place in the season seven episode “Goodbye, Michael,” when Pam chased Michael to the airport for one last goodbye. Instead of letting viewers hear their parting words, however, she whispered something to him off-mic. Just what she said has been unclear ever since.

Now, more than seven years after the episode aired, Jenna Fischer, who played Pam, took to social media to reveal just what her character said to Steve Carell’s Michael in his last moments as a regular cast member — and it’s an even sweeter message than you likely imagined.

During a live Q&A with her followers on Instagram, she reportedly told them it was her talking to Steve, the actor, not to Michael, the character. “I told him all the ways I was going to miss him when [he] left our show,” Fischer said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “Those were real tears and a real goodbye. That was a really emotional scene.”

Aw!

Knowing it was kind of in-character, but kind of not makes it that much sweeter, don’t you think?

Oh, and to answer that other important question: Pam’s ban from Chili’s has been officially lifted and she’s now totally allowed to wear white sneakers and drink margaritas to her heart’s content.

How do you feel about the news that “The Office” may be coming back?
